The Blog That Wouldn't Die!!!

Okay, okay...I know I was supposed to post more to this thing in 2013, but its been a busy year.  Ive made tons of puppets and some stop motion stuff for work, (to be posted once they are released to the public), and oh yeah...I got married!  Speaking of which, instead of buying some goofy centerpieces for the reception tables...my wonderful new wife, Angie, encouraged me to make some goofy ones of my own!  There were three tables, so for each one I sculpted a famous couple that were near and dear to our hearts.  Superman & Lois Lane, Rocky & Adrian, and finally, John Lennon & Yoko Ono.   Starting out, I picked a super simple style so I could get them done quick.  Then, after using some good ole' Sculpey,  I baked them and painted them up using acryllics.

Here are some pics of them in progress...

...And here they are displayed on the big day!

So, the way Ive approached this blog in the past is to only post work that I found "blog worthy".  Unfortunately, that approach has led me to barely post anything I've actually made.  So, from here on out, Im gonna post it all!  From any silly little puppet or cartoon that I make...to works in progress of the big projects.

Pet Grockle

Recently at work, I got to apply my love of puppetry and animation towards one awesome character...The Pet Grockle!   He was created by super designer, Nate Wragg.   First, I animated on the book, "My Pet Grockle".  You can preview the book and some of the animation by clicking below...

Then, I was given the assignment of creating a puppet of the little guy. I actually didn't have much experience working with fur, so it presented a few challenges, but it eventually came together.  Here are a few photos of the puppet in progress...

It Came from Outer Space!

I've been slacking on updating this blog, but Im determined to get back on track this year!  Anyways, here's a weird space creature that I made awhile back.  Just thought it would be fun to create another GIANT puppet!
